This is a 6 inch by 3.5 inch by 1 inch torsion box with no internal braces. It is the first of a series that will be tested for weight and strength. The individual pieces were entered here in dCal before it was built. As you can see, the results are accurate.
The box was assembled using Titebond II exterior wood glue, which is probably one of the best adhesives for wood. When used sparingly, it contributes very little weight to the overall structure once it dries.
The lines drawn on the top are for cutouts, which will be used to reduce weight. Once the cutouts are finished, I'll add more to this post.
